Hallowicked at the Fillmore in Detroit with Insane Clown Posse, Twiztid, & Blaze (Photos & Review)
Every Halloween Juggalos and Juggalettes take over the streets of Detroit. This year’s Hallowicked was bigger and better than ever. ICP, Twiztid, and Blaze all performed as headliners, and Big Hutch opened. Painstaking care was taken with the stage setup and lighting. Each lightbulb on the giant ICP sign had to be screwed in individually. Also, check out the fresh candy-colored lighting for ICP’s set. I had about two minutes to snap photos during the ICP set before the Faygo was flowing. After the concert, there was an after party at St. Andrew’s. As usual, ICP goes above and beyond for their fans. Thanks Psychopathic Records for all your hard…

Gunday Monday, Explicit Bombers, St. Thomas Boys Academy and The Toasters @ Small’s 11/4/11 (Review
Listening to live Ska and Punk music is a sure way to amp up your night. Hamtramck’s Small’s was a good venue for such an evening. Gunday Monday Explicit Bombers St. Thomas Boys Academy The Toasters Gunday Monday played with their usual amount of infectious energy despite the unusually subdued crowd. Lead singer, Alex Lee, noticed and playfully remarked, “Something’s wrong with this picture. I’m the one with a cast, and I’m moving more than you guys.” Recently he had been hit by a car, but that didn’t stop Alex from his never ending dancing and jumping about. Frankly, you shouldn’t be standing still at a Gunday Monday show. Their…

The Wombats at Voodoo Experience 10/28/11 (Photos & Review)
Matthew Murphy (Murph) Dan Haggis Tord Øverland-Knudsen http://www.thewombats.co.uk/ The Wombats of Liverpool, England were one of the top highlights of Voodoo Fest. The whimsical indie rock band drew an upbeat and hard-partying crowd even though they played at 2:15 PM. The Wombat’s quirky personalities would mesh well with the guys from Blink 182, because both performances were full of naughty jokes. For instance, more than one Wombat song was introduced as being about “falling in love with a prostitute.” The group commanded the obedient crowd to get out their “pretty smart dance moves you don’t get out for everybody.” One die-hard fan from England was happy to oblige and happily…
