Bonobo wsg Shigeto @ The Crofoot 4/19 (Photos & Review)
By Alexis Simpson Shigeto (aka Zach Saginaw) and Bonobo (aka Simon Green) sold out The Crofoot, and drew a very diverse crowd. Local favorite and Ghostly International artist, Shigeto, had a small entourage with him of his closest friends and family members. He was seen hanging out with his crew right before popping on stage to perform his set that ranged from ambient and soothing to ghettotech ass-tastic music. He has excellent range! Shigeto then jumped on the drums to enhance his own music as it played live. Those that weren’t familiar with Shigeto were blown away. Bonobo had masses of instruments and equipment on stage. He first appeared on the…

Mindless Self Indulgence @ The Fillmore Detroit 4/20/13 (Photos, Concert Review, & Setlist)
By Alexis Simpson Mindless Self Indulgence mixed rowdy punk rock with a little bit of rap, and delivered a quirky one-of-a-kind performance this past Saturday at The Fillmore Detroit. Props to the fans for coming dressed in colorful edgy attire and bright easter egg hair. This tour is in support of MSI’s new album being released next month, How I learned to Stop Giving a Shit and Love. Back in the day MSI opened for Detroit’s own Insane Clown Posse, but has now developed their own cult-like following. The stage setup for the night was wide-open and clean with only one mic-stand, two small backdrops, and a mini-drum kit. This…

NSFW! The Bam Margera Experience with CKY in Fuckface Unstoppable @ Harpo’s Detroit 4-26-13 (Photos, Setlist & Review)
By Jacob Giampa Bam Margera came back to Michigan last Friday for the second time in a month with his band Fuckface Unstoppable. This band consists of members from CKY. Before Bam came out, Brandon Novak appeared balls-out naked to sing a drunken cover of Phil Collins “In the air tonight.” Finally Bam came on stage and invited the whole audience to join him. Fuckface Unstoppable did a mixture of covers and originals. The originals were “Bend My Dick” and “That’s Why I Fucked Your Mom.” I expected to see a lot of crazy things at this show, and was not disappointed. Here are a few of them: 1. Alex Flamsteed was making out…

Steve Aoki and Kendrick Lamar with Bad Rabbits 4/13/13 @ Meadow Brook Festival (Photos & Review)
By Jacob Giampa Bad Rabbits started off the chilly evening at a sold out outdoor concert at Meadow Brook Music Festival. They are a R&B band with a very modern sound and catchy songs. They were very interesting to watch as they spastically jumped and danced across the stage. http://www.BADRABBITS.com http://twitter.com/BadRabbits http://youtube.com/badrabbitstv Next up was Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick has had a huge year, and his performance was highly anticipated since his songs just about own the radio these days. But first we had to endure his hype man who ran around the stage shouting “YEAH!” for way too long. (Bitch don’t kill my vibe. HA!) Regardless, everyone loved Kendrick! His flow was unique, relaxed and his…
