Cake wsg Kaleo at The Detroit Fillmore (Photos)

My two favorite Cake signs are “Sheep go to Heaven” and “Mexico.” “Sheep go to Heaven” was the first song of the night so I tried not to dance around like a goof while taking photos from the pit. For “Mexico,” I sat in the balcony and sung along like a happy kid. I was shooting my second show for Metro Times, and got to shoot Cake last minute. Singer John McCrea graciously took his hat off and bowed to the crowd when he first walked on the stage. Despite McCrea being sick, Cake sounded superb live.
