The Pretty Reckless @ St. Andrew’s Hall 10-25-13 (Photos, Setlist & Review)

Taylor Momsen is one of the most talented, ballsy, sultry and attractive women in rock ‘n roll today. Fortunately she always make it a point to stop in Detroit when touring. Ms. Momsen brought along her band to St. Andrew’s Hall for the Going to Hell tour which coincidentally is the name of the band’s latest single. This is a sort of “pre-tour” to prepare fans for their new album which is expected to be released in early 2014.
Taylor Momsen easily commanded the stage last Friday with her coltish legs, doe eyes, and serpentine movements. Female fans wanted to be her, male fans wanted to have her, and probably so did many of the women. Momsen wasn’t afraid to shake things up as she grinded on her older band mates all in the name of rock ‘n roll. Even if Momsen was plain and had no presence, her voice is strong enough to make waves. Equally helpful is that The Pretty Reckless’ music is ridiculously catchy. Rumor has it that Taylor Momsen was feeling a bit under the weather for her Detroit performance, but nobody in the audience would have guessed it. The group sounded strong. The only possible evidence of an illness, was that the band played a little shorter than usual. Regardless, most likely The Pretty Reckless will be back in 2014 in support of their up-and-coming album that fans are eagerly awaiting.
