An Interview with Linkin Park and Incubus!
We had the opportunity to participate in a group interview last week with Chester Bennington of Linkin Park and Brandon Boyd of Incubus. The interview was in preparation for this summer’s Honda Civic Tour. Both bands will be performing at The Palace of Auburn Hills, MI on August 21st. Both frontmen were charismatic, intelligent, and a ton of fun especially when joking with each other. Enjoy! Press: Past Honda Civic Tours have been more pop-oriented, such as “”Blink 182, “My Chemical Romance.” What can fans expect from this year’s Honda Civic Tour? Chester Bennington: Well, I think that for us, I mean, really, I think the most special thing about…

Jessica Hernandez & the Deltas @ The Magic Bag 7/20/12 (Photos & Review)
By Alexis Simpson Detroit music lovers eagerly awaited Jessica Hernandez & the Delta’s performance this past Friday. This was Jessica’s first big local show since signing with Blue Note Records/EMI, and fans expected to hear some of the new material the band has been working on for the upcoming album. As a young singer/songwriter/artist, Jessica Hernandez is a blossoming talent in charge of her own image, musical style and career. This isn’t surprising since Ms. Hernandez comes from an entrepreneurial family that runs the successful Armando’s Mexican Restaurant and Mexicantown Bakery in Southwest Detroit. Before signing her record deal, Ms. Hernandez raised eyebrows when she cancelled her first meeting with Blue Note…

Airborne Toxic Event, Minus the Bear, and Tristen @ The Fillmore Detroit 7/14/12 (Concert Review & Photos)
By Alexis Simpson The Airborne Toxic Event is a must see concert because not only does their music sounds fantastic live, but also due to how fun it is to watch the band interact so affectionately with each other and their audience. The dashing singer of ATE excitedly praised the Detroit crowd for being at the show, “I love these little chats-I’m gonna be honest with you guys, this is really fucking fun right now!” The band closed the out night with a lengthy encore composed of classic covers by such greats as Bruce Springsteen and Johnny Cash. Violinist, Anna Bulbrook took a break from performing to do a little bit of crowd surfing.…

Right Away, Great Captain!, Casey Crescenzo (of The Dear Hunter), and Harrison Hudson (Review & Photos)
By Alexis Simpson The Pike Room in Pontiac, MI hosted a sold-out show headlined by Andy Hull and his side project, Right Away, Great Captain!. The last time we saw Andy perform was at Clutch Cargo’s for the Manchester Orchestra show. Harrison Hudson performed first in front of a sizable crowd who were already staking out their spots in front of the stage. Harrison reminded us a bit of fellow Nashville musician, Justin Townes Earle. His performance was favorable and the Pontiac crowd enjoyed interacting with Harrison as he viewed the performances of Casey Crescenze and Andy Hull. Also, Harrison is an accomplished photographer! Next Casey Crescenzo took command of the room and chastised members of the…
