Run the Jewels wsg Boots @ Royal Oak Music Theatre (Photos)

The crowd was made up of about 95% men that aggressively blurted out every lyric. The lighting was horrible for pictures, but overall it was a good experience. Cake wsg Kaleo at The Detroit Fillmore (Photos)
By Alexis Simpson My two favorite Cake signs are “Sheep go to Heaven” and “Mexico.” “Sheep go to Heaven” was the first song of the night so I tried not to dance around like a goof while taking photos from the pit. For “Mexico,” I sat in the balcony and sung along like a happy kid. I was shooting my second show for Metro Times, and got to shoot Cake last minute. Singer John McCrea graciously took his hat off and bowed to the crowd when he first walked on the stage. Travel: A Culinary Honeymoon to Traverse City and Chicago (Photos)
By Alexis Simpson We left for Traverse City the day after our honeymoon. Our dog didn’t want us to go. We stayed at the Grand Traverse Resort. We got a newly remodeled King Tower room after Paul finagled with the front desk. Yay!
