The Oceania Tour: Smashing Pumpkins @ The Palace of Auburn Hills 10/23/12 (Photos, Review, & Setlist)
By Alexis Simpson The Smashing Pumpkins’s Oceania Tour is showing fans that Billy Corgan is serious about creating and sharing new music, and evolving with his band. This message has been conveyed throughout the tour by performing the “Oceania” album in its entirety. The Oceania Tour is a full-on production involving a giant orb showcasing innovative projection technology with stunning video prepared by world renowned visual artist Sean Evans (Roger Waters’ The Wall). Throughout the entire performance, Corgan displayed an intensity that stayed constant throughout the evening whether he was was thumping emphatically on his chest while singing a slow song or screaming like a banshee during his heavier material. Corgan…

Album Review: Aaron Lewis “The Road” (Score 90% )
Aaron Lewis, frontman of Staind has made a significant impact in the alternative rock space. All signs point towards a successfully leap into the country realm as well. His new album The Road is scheduled to be released on November 13th. Regina Spektor @ The Fillmore Detroit (Photos, Review, & Setlist)
By Alexis Simpson The lovely and gracious Regina Spektor performed at The Fillmore Detroit this past Saturday for a packed venue full of devoted fans. Regina is touring this year in support of her latest release, What We Saw From the Cheap Seats. Her performance drew in a fashionable Detroit crowd, with many die-hard fans playfully imitating Regina’s whimsical full-skirted feminine style. Most of the performance, Regina sang from behind her piano but she did venture to center stage several times in order to maximize her interaction with her audience. The Russian-born beauty who was raised in the Bronx, performed with the poise and polish of a classically trained artist who knows…

A Noize Note: Redefining our Direction
By Alexis Simpson Is Noize a music or a photography site? As of now, it’s more of a music site although the name Noize was chosen due to the noise in lowlight photography AND due to noise or sound of music. I figured it was the perfect word to describe both music and photography at the same time. Music is my favorite subject to photograph, but it’s time to do more. I want to give the “news” part of the domain more attention by shooting more culture/documentary images. I’m influenced by other documentary photographers and sites that make me want to shoot more often and a photograph a broader spectrum…
