Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra, Simple Pleasure, and Jherek Bischoff put on a theatrical performance for eclectic Detroit fans. Amanda Palmer briefly appeared on stage to give her openers a proper introduction before each of their sets. Yet before her own stage appearance, there was a slight delay due to Amanda feeling under the weather. Admirably, there were no obvious signs of illness throughout her entire performance. Ms. Palmer brought in her own soundboard, crew, and lighting which helped to enhance the aura of the show and shut up critics spouting off about her Kickstarter success. Detroit enthusiastically embraced Amanda Palmer’s performance due to there never being a dull moment. Amanda is an expert stage performer who knows how to arrange her setlist in a way that showcases her ability to be quirky and boisterous one moment, then serious and emotional the next. The audience particularly enjoyed when she crowdsurfed while singing with a trail of fabric draping over everybody. Amanda Palmer’s raw charisma and spunk make for an entertaining show!
