Buddy Guy at Orlando Calling 11/13/11 (Photos)
It was an honor to photograph the Blues legend Buddy Guy. He was a joy to watch perform not only because of his winsome smile, but also because of his “stankface” when he was jamming out. Stankface is the face one makes when performing in such a face that takes it to the next level by letting the nasty out. http://www.buddyguys.com/ http://www.buddyguy.net/ http://www.myspace.com/buddyguy http://www.twitter.com/therealbuddyguy

Chris Isaak at Orlando Calling 11/13/11 (Photos)
Most people think of the song “Wicked Games” when Chris Isaak’s name is mentioned. Chris and his crew put on a sparkling performance that was indeed a crowd-pleaser. http://chrisisaak.com/

Justin Townes Earle at Orlando Calling 11/13/11
www.justintownesearle.com https://twitter.com/#!/justintearle I had listened to Justin Townes Earle’s music in the past after reading rave reviews for his latest album “Harlem River Blues.” Justin is the son of Steve Earle, a well-known singer/songwriter. Both father and son have been upfront about their battles with addiction. Justin’s music is a mix of sadness and joy. Justin’s mild-mannered stage persona and shy smile make it easy forget that he’s had a troubled past. His set was so emotionally stirring that I completely forgot about Blake Shelton’s set going on at the same time and stayed for the entire set. After coming off of the kind of stressful week that thankfully only happens…

Kid Rock Goes All Out for Orlando Calling Festival 11/13/11(Photos & Review)
http://kidrock.com/ http://twitter.com/kidrock The taxi drivers of Orlando informed us that Kid Rock rented out the famous Florida strip joint “The Dollhouse” for some pre-performance debauchery the night he got into town. While this is purely speculation, let’s hope he squeezed in some deserved downtime in Orlando because his spectacular Sunday performance called for it. For a Detroiter, it’s uncanny to travel down South and see hordes of Southerners rockin’ “Made in Detroit” gear. Kid Rock has a special relationship with his Michigan fans due to his loyalty and continuous nationwide broadcasting of his love for Detroit. Kid Rock is also quite vocal about his love for our country which is…

Kid Cudi at Orlando Calling 11/12/11 (Photos)
One of the reasons artists like to perform at festivals is because it’s a good way to expose yourself to new fans. I have a feeling Kid Cudi picked up a whole slew of fans at Orlando Calling because he put on one helluva show. www.kidcudi.com
