311 @ DTE Energy Music Theatre (Photos, Review, & Setlist)
By Alexis Simpson
Going to see 311 during the summertime has become a Michigan staple. 311’s Unity Tour is the perfect musical summer experience due to the up-beat blend of rock, reggae, and hip-hop. The uncluttered stage with brilliant lighting left plenty of room for frontmen Nick Hexum and SA Martinez to vibe with the crowd, dance, and perform their catalog of hits. 311 is made up of a group of seasoned performers that enjoy spreading their music. Standouts of the night included 311’s song ” Amber” and “P-Nut’s” bass solo. The Aggrolites and Slightly Stoopid opened for 311 and showcased a strong reggae sound mixed with superb horn sections.
