Jay Z’s “Magna Carter World Tour” took over The Palace of Auburn Hills last Friday. Jay Z seems to be adamant about pursuing the title of “Best Rapper Ever” as he skillfully displayed his masterful rhymes to an appreciative Michigan audience. Jay Z has been at the top of the rap game for years and shows no sign of growing stale. The lanky Jay Z easily took control of the Palace stage as he engaged the crowd. The stage set was colorful yet simple which is preferable to a gimmicky over the top theatrical production that takes away from the music. Jay Z’s smooth onstage persona matched the playfulness and bravdo of his latest album, which makes him a hard act to measure up to.
