The Wombats @ The Crofoot 9/21/12 (Photos, Review, & Setlist)

After The Wombats show ended, two young girls were running around the ladies room squealing, “OMG Dan took my bracelet!!! He actually took it…” The other Wombats fans in the bathroom were a little older and knew it was no longer cool to act like a One Direction fan, but it was charming to see the two fans so worked up. It made me think back to when I first photographed The Wombats a year ago at Voodoo Fest in New Orleans. As soon as I posted those pics, BAM, those pics were devoured by the Tumblr girls and reblogged on tumblr’s like murphsexgod and fuckyeahwombats. Their appeal is understandable. They aren’t pretty boys per se but they each have a certain somethin’ something’. Musically they have a sound of their own that is a mix of UK dance music, punk and pop. Their Pontiac performance was most excellent and we can’t wait to see what is next!
