The first time we saw Go Radio live was at last year’s Yellowcard show @ St. Andrew’s Hall last year. (See photos here.) We were thrilled to hear that the guys from Go Radio were embarking on their own nationwide tour this year in support of their new album, Lucky Street. The Tallahassee group felt right at home in the unseasonably warm Michigan weather as fans packed into the Pike Room last Thursday night. Jason Lancaster has the most interesting and melodious voice with a hint of his own original homegrown accent. It’s the kind of voice that’s so good, he could sing any kind of music. I briefly envisioned what it would be like to see Go Radio as an indie band just for kicks. This year, Go Radio sounded even better probably because they are performing so cohesively as a group. They have impressive versatility that allows them to excel at heavier songs as well as their signature ballads. Their ballads are so catchy and fun to singalong to! After the performance, the band made time to meet with their fans. It was evident they enjoyed the performance as much as their fans did. We definitely have our eyes on this group and expect great things from them.
