The Arctic Monkeys are world-renowned for their live performances, and have become one of the most popular indie bands with over 2.5 million Facebook followers. Arctic Monkeys started out their show sensationally, but really made an impression on the song “I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor” and beyond. The sound in the large arena was surprisingly clear and remarkably loud. The stage lighting was simple and elegant which showed off the group’s polished musicianship and presentation. Drummer Matt Helders was especially entertaining to watch as he enthusiastically beat on his drums with a big smile. Alex Turner easily captivated Detroiters with his vocals and British accent. Later that same night in Hamtramck, one surprised fan tweeted a blurry photo of herself with members of the Arctic Monkeys checking out The Dirtbombs performance at our annual Blowout festival.
