Bright Eyes performed a passionate, lively, and poignant set at the beautiful Frederik Meijer Gardens Ampitheater in Grand Rapids. Dazzling Frontman, Conor Oberst even remarked that it was one of the most beautiful locations he had ever played. Bright Eyes is a MUST SEE performance due to the full band sound, sincere lyrics, and magical prowess of Conor Oberst. One of the best moments of the night came when Conor told the audience a story about how a certain unnamed celebrity paid him a lot of money to play “First Day of my Life” at her wedding. Speculation suggests Conor played the love song at the 2008 Ashley Simpson/Pete Wentz wedding. Devoted Bright Eyes fans were thrilled Conor chose to include that song in the encore because it was not played at the Detroit 3/15/2011 show. Michigan is excited to welcome back Bright Eyes on 8/25 in Detroit for the third time this year when they play at the Majestic Theatre. Despite the band’s grueling tour schedule, they show no sign of slowing down!
